Monsoon Escapades: A Serene Caravan Trip to Lonavala's Lush Greenery

Craving a break from the monotonous routine of city life, I had a strong desire to pursue my hobby of traveling and exploring new places. But I wanted something different, an intense connection with nature.

As being a frequent traveler and adventure junkie, I wanted to set off for a unique experience that would also involve my family. In July when the monsoon season is at its height, my interest shifted to lonavala, and I made the decision to go. But I wanted this trip to be different than normal, I wanted it to be an extraordinary and unforgettable experience for everyone. It was during my search I discovered Motohom Caravans, renowned for its luxurious offerings, and comfort. I finally decided to go ahead with this new adventure.

Our journey began in the morning at 7.00 am when the Caravan arrived to pick us up. As I entered the van, I was amazed by the sight. The opulence and atmosphere left me in awe. I eagerly desired to learn more about the van and proceed with our journey. As our trip commenced, we gathered around the bed and began with a spirited game of antakshari, divided into two teams of three, which eventually transitioned into a card game. We sat together, engaging in profound conversations and reminiscing about old memories. The caravan featured a television with several OTT platforms, allowing us to watch a movie and play songs. It had been quite some time since I had such fabulous moments with my family. Additionally, a notable convenience was that the caravan had its own restroom, eliminating the need for frequent stops. We had brought along instant food and a few beverages, which we stored in the small kitchen equipped with a fridge and microwave. This enabled us to quickly cook or heat up meals as desired. The chauffeur provided with the van assisted us with everything inside and diligently maintained cleanliness and hygiene. Having a driver proved advantageous as none of us had to worry about driving and could fully immerse ourselves in the trip, enjoying the company of one another.

Around 10.30 am, we found ourselves in the ghat, accompanied by a gentle rainfall. The scenery was truly breathtaking, with raindrops cherishing the rich greenery. What made it even more special was the fact that we could enjoy this view while lying in the cozy comfort of our beds. It felt as if we were traveling within the confines of our own home; truly, this was the perfect wrap-up of a home on wheels.

We soon arrived in Lonavala and made a stop at Kune Falls, where we joyfully played and immersed ourselves in its beauty for a while. Afterwards, we changed our clothes, grateful that we didn’t have to find a hotel or stay wet, thanks to the ample space and facilities provided in the van. Our next stop was at Mapro Garden, a renowned destination in Lonavala, where we relished a satisfying and delectable lunch. Continuing our journey, we explored Duke’s Nose, Lohagard Fort, Bhushi Dam, and Pawna Lake. As we wrapped up our sightseeing, it grew a bit late. We parked the van in a spacious area and set up a small camp, and we lit up a small barbecue and enjoyed a lovely dinner. To conclude our evening, we engaged in star gazing. As Lonavala is a hill station, situated 2000 feet above sea level, we were blessed with an unobstructed view of the stars. Moreover, the van offered a rooftop, allowing us to attain an even more elevated vantage point. Being away from the city lights and pollution, we witnessed a crystal-clear view of the sky, and feeling a deep sense of calmness in the surrounding nature. It felt as though I could gaze at the stars for countless hours, fascinated by their mesmerizing beauty. The following morning, we commenced our day with a vibrant sunrise, and had local breakfast before making our way back home.
