JAWHAR

Jawhar is a city and a municipal council in Palghar district of Maharashtra state in Konkan division of India. Situated in the ranges of the Western Ghats, It is known for its picturesque setting and a vibrant cultural heritage. It is one of the few remaining tribal regions of Maharashtra and is known for its vibrant Warli painting that is a characteristic landmark of this place. Established in 1918, Jawhar is one of the oldest municipal councils in the state of Maharashtra.

• 1) Hanuman Point: An amazing destination that should be on your list of excursions, the Hanuman Point is set in a wonderful natural setting. According to the myth attached to this place, Lord Hanuman rested at this place while on his way to meet Lord Rama's brother, Bharath owing to which the place got its name.

TAKMAK FORT

The Takmak fort is one of the hidden gems of the Sahyadris. The fort is situated in the Vasai Tehsil, Thane district. Though it is closer to Mumbai, it still remains unexplored. Sakawar is the base village for Takmak fort trek. This village is like a typical village shown in the movies. You can see the kids playing around, women washing clothes near the small streams and men ploughing the rice paddy field.

1) Takmak Fort Trek: Takmak fort has a very rich history. It was constructed in the 12th Century by King Bheemdev. This fort is very close to the Mumbai coast. Since the Portuguese used to enter India through the sea, they invaded this fort after the Marathas. The trail will be completely covered with tall green grass and the blooming flowers. Observe and enjoy the eerie silence when you are trekking in this foliage.

KELVA

Kelva Beach is also known as Kelve or Kelwa beach. This is located in Maharastra, India. It is a popular weekend getaway for tourists. The beach is about 8 Km long. It is one of the most clean, untouched and silent beaches in India.

Day 1: Mumbai to Jawhar, stop at a village, sightseeing like Jai vilas palace, Hanuman point, Dabhosa Waterfall . Learn warli painting at a local's home, visit sunset point. Overnight at Jawhar

Day 2: Enroute to Takmak Fort

In the morning after breakfast, proceed towards Salwar base village for Takmak Fort Trek. Trek towards takmak for takes around 4 to 5 hours (up and down). After the trek proceed towards Kelva beach for a relaxing evening. Enjoy beach camping, BBQ and bonfire.

Day 3: Depart for Mumbai.
